Avenged Sevenfold est un groupe de metalcore/hard rock/Punk américain. Leur style a évolué petit à petit, en commençant par le Death Metal, jusqu'au Metalcore, et l'album Waking The Fallen est un mélange entre les deux genre. Le groupe est composé de cinq membres qui proviennent des États-Unis. M. Shadows : chant
Synyster Gates : guitariste soliste Zacky Vengeance : guitariste rythmique The Reverend Tholomew Plague : batterie Johnny Christ : basse Le groupe a été initié 1999 et est originaire d'Huntington Beach en Californie. Connus aussi sous le nom raccourci A7X ils sont influencés par (Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Iron Maiden, Pantera), un mélange de Metal et de Hard Rock.
Leur Premier album album"Sounding the seventh Trumpet" a été orienté Death.Ensuite le groupe a changé de style en introduisant des touches Metalcore dans l'album "Waking The Fallen".
L'album "city of Evil" était different de deux albums précédents.Mais juger le groupe qu'il joue du Punk ou Hard Rock n'est pas trop claire car ce n'était qu'une experience que le groupe a voulu essayer.
