Mighty UNLEASHED are back and let the world tree Yggdrasil tremble! These are the most fitting words to describe what a mighty body of work the Swedes` new masterpiece “As Yggdrasil Trembles...” really is!
21 years – and still going strong! UNLEASHED were there when classic Swedish death metal started to rise in the early 1990s, and they stay true to their roots til this very day. But where other acts (like DISMEMBER or ENTOMBED) opted for a gnarly trademark Sunlight studio sound, Johnny Hedlund and his warriors chose their own path: UNLEASHED play their own brand of Viking death metal, including lots of epic midtempo parts and a crunchy, heavy-ass production.
Just check out "As Yggdrasil Trembles...” to prove this theory: no one can compete with this classy mixture of pure death metal fury in the 90s vein ("So it begins..."), gloriously epic battle hymns ("Master of the ancient art"), highspeed punkish madness (the half-German war cry "Wir kapitulieren niemals") and breathtaking guitar solos! A must have for lovers of traditional Scandinavian death metal, all sons of Odin and purveyors of true steel!
