Following the highly acclaimed albums "Natural Born Chaos" and "Figure Number Five", SOILWORK now give you the final bash! "Stabbing The Drama" is perhaps the best piece of Melodic Death Metal the Swedish band has ever created! Extremely tight and dynamic with melodic elements at the exact right places are the trademarks of this work; every single note, precise break and stabbing beat is timed in pure perfection. Soilwork have reached a new plateau only hinted at in their now classic "Natural Born Chaos".The vocals of Björn "Speed" Strid burst with mere power and gives you both emotional shivers and brutal attacks! Title track 'Stabbing The Drama' opens an album full of blistering ear catchers and the refrains are just made for staying in your brain to the bitter end…
SOILWORK have never been better before!
SOILWORK was founded in 1995 under the name INFERIOR BREED. In 1997 the band changed its title to SOILWORK which would become more than well-known within the Melodic Death scene only a couple of years later. In 2001, the Swedes released their third album "A Predator's Portrait" which marked the big breakthrough. The record got extremely good scores and critics from the press, especially in Germany, and made SOILWORK the new big hit next to their colleagues of In Flames.
After an acclaimed tour with Annihilator and Nevermore, SOILWORK went on rocking several summer open airs; amongst the many highlights, the show at Wacken Open Air 2001 remains memorable to the 20.000 + attending fans!
The following masterpiece "Natural Born Chaos" was recorded under the supervision of Devin Townsend (e.g. STRAPPING YOUNG LAD) as producer. Packed with great smashers like 'Follow The Hollow' and 'As We Speak', this longplayer marked the logical next step after "A Predator's Portrait", helping SOILWORK to keep on climbing the peaks of success.
More tours through Europe, the USA and even Japan helped spreading SOILWORK's popularity making it hard for tour-mates Children Of Bodom, Hypocrisy or Killswitch Engage to stand their ground besides the mere unbelievable power of this Swedish combo.
"Figure Number Five" lifted SOILWORK ultimately to the first class of the Melodic Death Metal genre. No ifs or buts! 'Rejection Role', 'Light The Torch' and especially 'Departure Plan' became the new hymns of the SOILWORK set list.
In the second half of 2004, the band started working on new material with producer Daniel Bergstrand in the Dug-Out Studios in Uppsala, Sweden and the Fascination Street studios in Orebro, Sweden. As Richard Evensand left SOILWORK in the beich ginning of 2004, Dirk Verbeuren of SCARVE played drums on "Stabbing The Drama" and did a really unbelievable job – the awesome result you just have at hand!
The simple but very memorable cover was done my Mircea Gabriel Eftemie (who's also guitar player at Mnemic and already did covers for Ektomorf, Malevolent Creation and many more) and it just represents the music of SOILWORK: Catchy & striking – like a sharp
