Scar Of The Sun : what piqued Greg Eleftheriou's interest in playingSaturday, May 15, 2021What piqued Greg Eleftheriou's interest in playing guitar? who are his guitar heros ? ▬ What piqued Greg Eleftheriou's interest in playing guitar? who are his guitar heros ? ▬ Link for the whole interview : https://Lnkfi.re/Scarsofthesun Karim Benamor : and how did you come to guitar Greg Eleftheriou : oh yeah i was uh i was nine years old and uh my father had the idea that we should me and my brother we should go and um you know uh to the local music school and start music at the beginning i wasn't really a fan of this idea but um afterwards yeah i liked it and i and i choose guitar i don't know why i just i just chose guitar uh yeah and i was i was having classical guitar lessons for like four years i was playing you know all this bach all this classic of music and afterwards rock and metal came into my life and i switched to to the electric guitar so i could play all the strips that i that i wanted Karim Benamor : yeah and um how a rock and metal came to your life um who was the the bands or the the guitarists that what was your guitar heroes Greg Eleftheriou : okay okay uh i think the the the first band that inspired me like really inspired me to play music more seriously and to dream about me playing on stage is Scorpions nowadays i don't really listen to Scorpions i still like them like i still like them but um yeah i remember back in the day that i was listening to Scorpion songs and i was doing air guitar and i was imagining myself you know playing these songs or other songs on stage Scorpions really inspired me i remember going in the record store every saturday morning to get one Scorpion's album so one squirm album at a time until i until i had them all but yeah later on you know i started studying music because i decided that i i wanted to be a professional musician many other things inspired me and all this regarding metal regarding metal uh some bands that um how can i say that that that inspired me about the sound that i wanted to play was bands like Catatonia some bands like in flames you know um that really like their sound and they're playing so during my uh uh my early adulthood i was really into this type of music so that inspired me regarding the sound that i want to produce with my guitar in the metal region ▬ about Scar Of The Sun interview ▬ Link for the whole interview : https://Lnkfi.re/Scarsofthesun Scar Of The Sun were the guest of ZanZanA Live Stream Metal Interview hosted by Karim Benamor on thursday May 6 at 8:30 PM (gmt+1). Greg Eleftheriou, guitarist, spoke about "Inertia", the the third full-length album of Greece's modern metal five-piece who will be released on on May 14, 2021 via Napalm Records. ▬ about Scar Of The Sun ▬ Greece’s SCAR OF THE SUN lends a voice to social injustice, merging scientific lyricism with energetic modern metal! After sharing the stage with outstanding acts such as Dark Tranquillity and Insomnium, as well as compatriots Rotting Christ, Greek modern metal five-piece SCAR OF THE SUN is poised to reach the next level with the release of their otherworldly third full-length, Inertia (May 14 via Napalm Records). The album delivers a fresh take on melodic, atmospheric, often progressively-influenced metal while forging a unique path, and acts as a follow up to their self-titled demo (2005), debut full-length A Series Of Unfortunate Concurrencies (2011) and sophomore offering In Flood (2016). ▬ about Inertia ▬ On Inertia, SCAR OF THE SUN utilizes scientific terminology to transmit their impassioned messages of difficult trials and social awareness lyrically, conveying an overarching theme that reflects one of society’s heaviest burdens – that financial gain has flourished at the expense of humanity and the livelihoods of everyday people. Instrumental intro “Hydrogen” stirs things up before kicking in with hard-hitting title track “Inertia”, evoking a truly thunderous verse and, propelled by blasting drums, leads into an undeniably catchy chorus. With its razor-sharp riffs, “I Am The Circle'' refuses to compromise and genuinely reflects on the toughest aspects of being a musician, while the “Quantum Leap Zero”- trilogy conveys very intense and dramatic events that occured in Greece in 2015: Suppression, rise/revolution and huge defeat in the end. Beginning with “Quantum Leap Zero I: Torque Control”, SCAR OF THE SUN unveils a whole new instrumental facet of the record, splicing their soundscapes with distinctively desolate vibes. “Quantum Leap Zero II: Transition To Turbulence”, on the other hand, calls for an untamed storm to annihilate everything, followed by atmospheric “Oxygen”, smashing “The Fallible Experiment” and poignant trilogy-closer “Quantum Leap Zero III: Thrust”. Inertia ends with “Anastasis” (Greek for “resurrection”), an intense track about the terrible pain of losing someone you love. With this closer, SCAR OF THE SUN manages to put agony into words and turn this palpable despair into emotive music. Inertia was recorded and mixed by singer and songwriting mastermind Terry Nikas at Zero Gravity Studios in Athens, Greece and mastered by the legendary Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Dimmu Borgir) at Fascination Street Studios, Sweden. ▬ Tracklist ▬ 01.
