Scar Of The Sun were the guest of ZanZanA Live Stream Metal Interview hosted by Karim Benamor on thursday May 6 at 8:30 PM (gmt+1).
Greg Eleftheriou, guitarist, spoke about "Inertia", the the third full-length album  of Greece's modern metal five-piece who will be released on on May 14, 2021 via Napalm Records.

▬ about Scar Of The Sun ▬
Greece’s SCAR OF THE SUN lends a voice to social injustice, merging scientific lyricism with energetic modern metal!

After sharing the stage with outstanding acts such as Dark Tranquillity and Insomnium, as well as compatriots Rotting Christ, Greek modern metal five-piece SCAR OF THE SUN is poised to reach the next level with the release of their otherworldly third full-length, Inertia (May 14 via Napalm Records).

The album delivers a fresh take on melodic, atmospheric, often progressively-influenced metal while forging a unique path, and acts as a follow up to their self-titled demo (2005), debut full-length A Series Of Unfortunate Concurrencies (2011) and sophomore offering In Flood (2016).

▬ about Inertia ▬

On Inertia, SCAR OF THE SUN utilizes scientific terminology to transmit their impassioned messages of difficult trials and social awareness lyrically, conveying an overarching theme that reflects one of society’s heaviest burdens – that financial gain has flourished at the expense of humanity and the livelihoods of everyday people. Instrumental intro “Hydrogen” stirs things up before kicking in with hard-hitting title track “Inertia”, evoking a truly thunderous verse and, propelled by blasting drums, leads into an undeniably catchy chorus. With its razor-sharp riffs, “I Am The Circle'' refuses to compromise and genuinely reflects on the toughest aspects of being a musician, while the “Quantum Leap Zero”- trilogy conveys very intense and dramatic events that occured in Greece in 2015: Suppression, rise/revolution and huge defeat in the end. Beginning with “Quantum Leap Zero I: Torque Control”, SCAR OF THE SUN unveils a whole new instrumental facet of the record, splicing their soundscapes with distinctively desolate vibes. “Quantum Leap Zero II: Transition To Turbulence”, on the other hand, calls for an untamed storm to annihilate everything, followed by atmospheric “Oxygen”, smashing “The Fallible Experiment” and poignant trilogy-closer “Quantum Leap Zero III: Thrust”. Inertia ends with “Anastasis” (Greek for “resurrection”), an intense track about the terrible pain of losing someone you love. With this closer, SCAR OF THE SUN manages to put agony into words and turn this palpable despair into emotive music.

Inertia was recorded and mixed by singer and songwriting mastermind Terry Nikas at Zero Gravity Studios in Athens, Greece and mastered by the legendary Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Dimmu Borgir) at Fascination Street Studios, Sweden.

MOTORJESUS Chris 'Howling' Birx metal interview about 'Hellbreaker'

Monday, April 26, 2021, in Vidéo, Podcast

Chris "Howling" Birx was the guest of ZanZanA Live Stream Metal Interview hosted by Karim Benamor on wednesday April 14 at 8:30 PM (gmt+1).

Chris spoke about "Hellbreaker", the new MOTORJESUS album who was released on April 09, 2021 via AFM.

▬ about Motorjesus ▬

MOTORJESUS are playing a high-octane mixture of classic heavy metal and dirty hard rock. The band is pretty active in the German live scene since the early 2000s. They already played numerous tours with bands such as Motörhead, Anthrax, Prong, Mustasch and many more. They also played lots of live festivals like the famous German Summer Breeze Festival or the Rock Hard Festival.

Their last studio album "Race to Resurrection" hit the German Album Charts at #41 which was their highest position in Germany's Media Control Charts so far. For that album they also played numerous shows, a headliner tour and a support tour with the Swedish rock act Mustasch in 2019. After that they released their first live album "Live Resurrection" in 2020.

Despite the fact that MOTORJESUS is one of the longest running German bands in their genre, they are still pretty much down to earth and no rockstar allures are found. They simply love Rock'n'Roll and celebrate the music. Their love for 70s muscle cars also shows in their artwork and the "Motorized Jesus" has established as their band mascot in their cover-artworks over the past years.

The Corona pandemic sadly affected MOTORJESUS' ability to perform live, but instead the band then focused on a new album which will be out now under the name "Hellbreaker". It's their 7th studio album so far.

▬ about Hellbreaker ▬

For the new album MOTORJESUS tried to write a compact and explosive Hard Rock album with no ballads involved this time.Songs like the burning "Car Wars" or the fuel driven "Dead Rising" have a slightly more punk based Rock'n'Roll drive to it, while other songs like the metal forging "Hellbreaker" or the epic "Lawgiver" are more true to their 80´s heavy metal roots from Judas Priest to Iron Maiden.

But there also are some traditional MOTORJESUS tunes e.G. the opening track "Drive through Fire" or the groove laden "Firebreather" that stay true to their well established brand of metal, classic rock, stoner and other influences. The most important thing is that the fists can be risen and the crowd is singing along.

Also the new line up - especially new guitarist Patrick Wassenberg - brought in some new influences, burning solo guitars and a look to new frontiers in songwriting. But nevertheless the boys from MOTORJESUS still stay true to themselves and they are now ready to hit the road again with their new album "Hellbreaker".

Let the motor run!
MOTORJESUS - Heavy Rock, Mönchengladbach, since 1992
