Quelques news à propos de Danko Jones

"So last night I'm singing "Patience" with Axl Rose & Tommy Stinson and tonight I'm doing laundry at home. Did it even happen?" [http://twitter.com/dankojones]

Danko Jones just returned home to Toronto from one of the most amazing tours they have ever done, opening up for Guns N'Roses and Sebastian Bach at hockey arenas across Canada. Now, this is of course an incredible opportunity that they were given, but it does raise a question. How does a band keep its excitement for the rest of the year after starting out at a high point like this? Well, with any normal band the consequences could be catastrophical. With Danko though, it's quite the opposite. This tour has made them more anxious than ever to get back on the road and they've reached a point now where they can't control their excitement over the new album anymore. At one point Danko even uttered the words "This is our best album yet". Needless to say, this is something most bands will proclaim in combination with any given release. Danko, however, hasn't said this once in his entire career. So it's a bold statement to say the least, but rest assured "Below The Belt" delivers!

"Below The Belt" was produced by their old friend and long time collaborator Matt DeMatteo, who previously produced "We Sweat Blood" and "Sleep Is The Enemy". Scheduled for a May 14:th release "Below The Belt" contains 11 tracks that sees the band returning to their roots with a harder/more powerful sound, while simultaneously keeping the incredible harmonies of their more recent releases.

All the photos for the record were shot by Dean Karr (Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Marilyn Manson etc) at various locations/studios in LA (the first result can be found above - hi res version on the link below) and we urge you to check out the brand new album cover here: http://www.dankojones.com/

US & Canadian dates will be announced shortly along with the first European summer festivals. After focusing heavily on North and South America last year and thereby taking the longest break from Europe since they started touring here 9 years ago (!!) they will return "angrier, madder, louder and more obnoxious" than ever this summer!=20

In other recent Danko news their video for "First Date" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DyGLwqtOF_XY) just passed 1 million views on Youtube, their video for "Code of the Road" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DHKhhlUdskwc) was aired on Fox Sports ACC Sunday Night Hoops (college basketball) 10 days ago and among other things their music has recently been featured in Need For Speed Nitro and on the Saw VI soundtrack.
